Eligibility and Selection Process for Cameron Impact Scholarship
The Cameron Impact Scholarship welcomes applicants from all backgrounds, without any discrimination based on race, socioeconomic status, religion, sexual orientation, or other factors. The selection process is based on the following criteria:
- Academic Excellence: Applicants must maintain a minimum, cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.7/4.0 or its equivalent throughout high school.
- U.S. Citizenship: The scholarship is open to full citizens of the United States of America.
- Graduating Class of 2024: Applicants must be part of the high school graduating class of 2024 and plan to enroll in a full-time course of study at an accredited four-year U.S. college or university.
- Demonstrated Excellence: Applicants should have a proven track record of excellence in extracurricular activities, leadership, community service, and civic engagement.
Application Process and Deadlines
There are two opportunities to submit the initial online application:
- Early Application Deadline: May 19, 2023, at 12:00 pm PT (NOON)
- Regular Application Deadline: September 8, 2023, at 12:00 pm PT (NOON)
Applicants must complete the online application, submit two required letters of recommendation, and provide a transcript certifying their academic performance. The Bryan Cameron Education Foundation will review applications on a rolling basis, with a limit of 3,000 applications for the Class of 2024.
The Selection Committee will select 75-100 finalists for face-to-face interviews in the fall of 2023, typically held at the applicant’s high school. The recipients of the Cameron Impact Scholarship will be announced in December 2023.
Obligations and Benefits
Cameron Impact Scholarship recipients are required to attend an annual Cameron Impact Scholars Award Ceremony and Summit for the duration of their four-year scholarship.
This provides a platform for networking, learning, and further developing their skills as change-makers.
