Job Description
The University of New Hampshire Library is seeking a part-time adjunct librarian to provide subject-specific information literacy instruction and research support to the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture (COLSA) community. The librarian will also participate in special projects, such as the development of online learning objects and collection evaluation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide subject-specific information literacy instruction to COLSA students in both the ways in-person and online formats
- Provide research support to COLSA students, including individual research consultations
- Participate in chat reference service during assigned shifts
- Contribute to special projects, such as the development of online learning objects and collection evaluation initiatives
- Demonstrate commitment to developing multicultural competence and contributing to a work environment that affirms its commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
Specific Duties
- Develop and deliver subject-specific information literacy instruction to COLSA students
- Provide research support to COLSA students, including individual research consultations
- Participate in chat reference service during assigned shifts
- Collaborate with faculty and other librarians to develop and deliver library services
- Participate in special projects, such as the development of online learning objects and collection evaluation initiatives
- Stay up-to-date on current trends in information literacy and research
- Represent the library at campus events and activities
Qualifications:
- Candidate should have an ALA-accredited Master’s library science degree or an international equivalent
- Knowledge of reference resources and online databases
- Ability to effectively engage students in the classroom
- Understanding of the delivery of library services
- Ability to work both independently and with others
- Demonstrated multicultural competence and maintain a work environment that affirms its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Preferred Qualifications:
- Academic background in Agriculture and/or Life Sciences
- Teaching experience or academic background in education
- Ability to take high-level initiatives
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
