Job Description

Canandaigua National Bank & Trust (CNB) is seeking a skilled and dedicated Consumer Loan Underwriter to join our team in Canandaigua, NY. As a Consumer Loan Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in building relationships with local auto dealerships, negotiating rates for Indirect Auto Loans, and evaluating credit quality to assess risks associated with loan requests. Responsibilities

  • Review consumer loan applications from dealerships and Community Offices, evaluating credit quality and associated risks.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local auto dealerships, negotiating rates for Indirect Auto Loans.
  • Collaborate with Senior Management to present loan applications for approval if recommendation exceeds approved limits.
  • Maintain accurate awareness of the credit quality of the portfolio and the inherent credit risk.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to dealers, internal teams, and external customers, offering appropriate counseling when necessary.
  • Handle inquiries and requests for information from automobile dealership personnel and community office staff regarding loan status, approvals, payoffs, and more.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in Business, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related position.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with PC and associated programs (such as Microsoft Office).
