Position Overview

As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will be responsible for facilitating contract implementation and revenue pull-through activities. Your main focus will be ensuring reimbursement from both public and private payers. You will also review billing and payment processes to ensure efficiency and compliance with corporate goals and regulations. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in contract implementation for operations and collaborate with the Market Access team to maintain agreements that provide medical providers and patients with access to our assays while aligning with our company’s goals and objectives.

Essential Duties

Your key responsibilities as an Accounts Receivable Specialist will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Developing communication for contracts, amendments, and notifications for internal Revenue Cycle Team (RCT) customers and collaborating with the Field Managed Care team in negotiations with payers for operational optimization.
  2. Assisting in the development and maintenance of a contract database and contract management system in collaboration with the credentialing and legal teams.
  3. Collaborating with finance and analytics to identify, analyze, and address negative revenue pull-through scenarios specific to payers and across payer segments such as Medicare Advantage, Blues, Medicaid, etc.
  4. Working with RCT Managers and specialists to develop relationships with billing operations staff and payers, resolving claim adjudication issues both contractual and non-contractual.
  5. Supporting the execution of pull-through plans to achieve quarterly/annual revenue recovery goals.
  6. Identifying broad revenue opportunities within a specific customer segment, including utilizing Content Management Systems (CMS) for noncontracted Managed Medicare non-payments and the Employer Coalition initiative.
  7. Consistently identifying opportunities to recover revenue.
  8. Collaborating with the Market Access team to identify and prioritize plans that utilize key payers for targeted efforts to impact coverage policy decisions.
  9. Facilitating early conversations with relevant personnel within our company to provide an overview of the account during the contracting process to avoid implementation delays.
  10. Demonstrating strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  11. Utilizing strong analytical skills to drive results with a high emphasis on quality.
  12. Presenting recommendations supported by analytical evaluations.
  13. Tracking and maintaining records effectively.
  14. Prioritizing and multitasking efficiently.
  15. Integrating and applying feedback in a professional manner.
  16. Demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external personnel.
  17. Collaborating effectively as a team member.

  19. Supporting and complying with the policies and procedures of the System and Analytic team.
  20. Maintaining regular and reliable attendance.
  21. Working on a mobile device, tablet, or computer screen and performing typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  22. Working on a computer and phone simultaneously.
  23. Using a telephone through a headset.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for the Accounts Receivable Specialist position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; or a High School Degree/General Education Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in billing/reimbursement, coverage, claims, and appeals.
  • Demonstrated understanding of public and private Managed Care payers and the reimbursement process.
  • Demonstrated understanding of market-related issues, contract basics, product coverage, and pull-through rationale.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Epic; demonstrated ability to maintain competency levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred for the Accounts Receivable Specialist role:

  • Knowledge of and/or experience with government Managed Care payers.
  • Knowledge of billing and coding.
  • Knowledge of Tableau.

Salary Range

The salary range for the Accounts Receivable Specialist position is $59,000.00 to $95,000.00 annually. Please note that the actual salary may vary depending on the hiring location. This position is also eligible for bonuses and company stock upon hire and annually.
